It was great before, and now it’s back, and somehow it’s better! Devour at the Dyehouse is a dining destination which offers something uniquely special to Yorkshire. Inside and out, this beautifully designed space at their stunning Holmfirth mill feels like a faraway escape whilst also showcasing the best of local. And from the outside in, Devour have given the already impressive riverside and eatery a handsome upgrade.

From the start of May, ready for the warmer weather, Devour are tempting us to dine al-fresco at their fabulous and maturing Riverside Garden. This glorious spot is the perfect place to kick back and relax on a sunny Yorkshire afternoon – so much so that Devour has been named as “one of the best 12 Alfresco Dining venues in the UK” by The Times.

Confirming those credentials, the reopening of the riverside comes with a sunshine inspired menu that complements the stunning setting. It’s irresistible for a leisurely lunchtime soaking it all up – whether with a relaxing beer or social cocktails, a few nibbles or a delicious dish.

Inside too, the dining area has been freshened up – a new layout creates space for booths, benches and tables for a more intimate and varied selection of seating. And there’s a snazzy new kitchen extension from which the talented team are cooking up some sensational food.

Serving Italian inspired dishes with local seasonal produce in an atmosphere of laid back elegance is a surefire winner, and the pastas, pizzas, meat, fish and veg creations are all elevated from the comfortingly familiar to the beautifully tasty. You can’t make this at home.

Devour at the Dyehouse remains a treat of an evening, and Devour by the River makes this a delightful daytime destination too. You’ll not find a nicer way to spend a weekend afternoon. Turns out The Times were right – Devour is not only “one of the best 12 Alfresco Dining venues in the UK”, but one of the best dining venues full stop.
