West Yorkshire is full of exciting, forward-thinking cuisine. The recent addition of Veganuary into the culinary calendar has been embraced around several of the eateries in the area. So whether you’re a convert or just looking for some delicious plant-based grub, here’s a list of where to find some of the best Vegan food in West Yorkshire.

Dandelion Cafe

Dandelion Cafe is an excellent vegan food spot. They are situated in Holding Space, a converted Victorian mill that houses holistic businesses. They provide delicious, nutritional and wholesome plant based food and celebrate using the freshest and most colourful ingredients that, wherever possible, are organic, locally sourced and seasonal.

Jinnah Bistro

Also in Saltaire you can find Jinnah bistro, a revered Kashmiri eatery with a sister restaurant in Bradford. Their menu is expansive offering a nice amount of veggie mains, most of which are vegan. If you’re dining with some determined meat eaters this is the sort of place that has enough on the menu to please everyone. Not to mention the incredible quality of food, just check the reviews.

Copper & Moss

Also housed in a Victorian mill, somewhere between Saltaire and Shipley is Copper and Moss. They describe themselves as Same, same, but different. They are a multi purpose eatery serving delicious breakfast and coffee as well as evening meals and drinks. Nestled in their large menu is a healthy selection of vegan brunch bits and vegan Thai dishes that you don’t want to miss.

Anand Sweets

Anand Sweets is a business that has been in the Harehills area of Leeds for 21 years and is run by the Chera family. Mum, Surjit and dad Harvinder run the kitchen and their daughters work in the front house. Last year they featured on BBC show Remarkable Places to Eat and their samosas left Fred from First Dates stunned. They are a vegetarian and egg free kitchen meaning they cater for vegans in a big way, think curries and pakora. They provide all sorts of food including, as the name might suggest, confectionery which is a must try if you visit.

Cobbles & Clay

Over in Haworth Cobbles & Clay is a wonderfully cute pottery studio, cafe and deli. In the Deli they supply locally sourced artisanal goods demonstrating their love for local produce. In the cafe there is a wide selection of breakfast plates and Lunch dishes. They expressly say that they are well equipped with top shelf ingredients to adapt their menu for Vegan and Gluten free eaters even though there are already a multitude of great selections for the VGang already.

The Winking Stag

The Winking Stag in Holmfirth offer a couple of interesting vegan options on their asian fusion menu such as their wild mushroom Yaki soba and tofu spice sticks. It’s a relaxed environment where they encourage you to sit back and have a few drinks from their specialist selection too.

True North

True North in Halifax is popular amongst locals for their warm and friendly atmosphere. They have a menu filled with pub style food with an added finesse. There’s a couple of tasty vegan starters and mains on there which could be your ticket.
