Leeds Arts University is a city institution that has a tradition going back centuries and a more recent one which has this year been revived. The end of year show, where the artwork produced by the university’s talented students is displayed to both a private audience and then to the admiring public, had been put on hold since 2019 due to the pandemic; its return in 2022 highlights what an important event this is for the showcasing artists, for the university, and for the city of Leeds.
Following the announcement of the aptly named extravaganza ‘The Big Big Big Show’, Leeds Arts University graduates put on a stunning exhibition of eclectic and excellent art at Blenheim Walk in June 2022; and now in September The Big Big Big Show gets even bigger! From the 20th to the 24th, it’s time for the postgraduates of Leeds Arts University to show the city what the next generation of inspiring artists have been creating.
At the same venue, 60 postgraduate students will exhibit their chosen pieces of animation, creative practice, curation practices, digital fashion, fine art, graphic design, illustration, graphic novel, photography, worldbuilding and creature design. This is the most personal curation and presentation of art at its most authentic and pure.
It promises to be a wide ranging collection of awe-inspiring work from the new talent rising out of our city. Whether you’ve been before or this is your first time, for three years we’ve missed it, so this year, whatever you do, don’t miss it.
