We are only four months into 2024 and have already welcomed several new restaurants and cafes into Leeds’ bustling streets. From independent hidden gems to international foodie favourites there is something for everyone to love in this mouthwatering list. Check out 7 of our most loved 2024 openings below.

Meet Fresh – 2nd February
We’re kicking off this delicious list with a taste of Taiwan. Hidden in the Merrion Centre, authentic Taiwanese dessert restaurant Meet Fresh offer a variety of sweet treats with shaved ice, mochi, and bubble tea being fan favourites.

Meet Fresh has already opened in London and Glasgow, but is the first of its kind to open up North and Leeds has already welcomed the restaurant with open arms. Make sure to recommend this spot to any of your foodie friends!

Livett’s – 26th February
Nestled next to intimate entertainment venue The Wardrobe, Livett’s is the perfect on- the- go coffee spot for a quick caffeine hit. Specialising in sustainably sourced beans from Leeds own North Star roasters and a variety of fresh pastries and sweet treats from Baltzersens & Blond and Brown, this is the ultimate independent spot to get your daily coffee fix.

Find Livett’s on 6 Peter’s Square open Monday-Saturday for a delicious takeaway treat.

Raw Coffee – 20th March
Independent haven Mill Hill welcomed Raw Coffee into its community late March and has been met with nothing but good reviews. Husband and wife team James and Anya Adams serve in-house roasted coffee alongside a delicious menu of baked desserts and six mouth-watering bagel options to choose from.

The cafe’s monochromatic design and trendy decor makes it the perfect instagrammable spot to catch up with friends or even for a solo coffee date. Raw Coffee is already becoming a local favourite, so make sure to check it out if you’re in the area!

Ottimo Pizza – March 22nd
Translating from Italian to ‘excellence’, independent restaurant Ottimo is sure to satisfy any of your pizza cravings. Made with seasonal ingredients and a ‘48 hour fermented’ dough, the restaurant focuses on well balanced flavours and a unique fusion of classic and new tastes.

Ottimo is the love child of Paul Bolster and Nick Julian who already separately own popular Leeds food spots ‘Tasty Kitchen and Coffee’ and ‘Pizza Freak’. The friends have created a fantastic menu together with small plates, desserts, and of course many delicious pizzas to choose from!

Check out Ottimo in Roundhay open every Wednesday- Sunday.

Wingstop – 25th March
Fast food chicken shop Wingstop opened its first Leeds store on Boar Lane late March and we are already obsessed. The chain offers a wide selection of rubs and sauces with an off the chart heat scale that is perfect for any spice lovers out there! Despite opening weeks ago, queues are still being formed outside every lunchtime with customers desperate to get their hands on the iconic wingstop flavours.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the store opening party and can confirm that it lives up to the hype!

The Med – 30th March
A new Greek food spot has opened in Hyde Park, offering a fresh, authentic menu and a friendly atmosphere perfect for busy students or family outings. The restaurant serves traditional Greek favourites like Gyros and Souvlaki alongside other treats such as platters and hummus dishes.

Owner Mari fulfilled her dream of owning a restaurant with her husband and is helped by her family in the kitchen. The Med is the perfect place for a lunchtime treat or evening feast; there is something for everyone on the menu!

Boojum – 10th April
Highly anticipated Irish burrito joint Boojum opened its first UK Store in Leeds in April and has brought its bold Mexican flavours to the Merrion Centre. The fast food restaurant specialises in customisable burritos, bowls, tacos and fajitas for an exciting taste sensation with every visit. Think big portions, big flavours, and endless combinations.

Since opening, Boojum has treated customers to 300 free burritos and we expect that there are going to be a lot of self confessed ‘Boojum Addicts’ in the city soon!

If you can’t get enough of trying out some delicious new spots, keep your eyes peeled for these new openings coming to Leeds very soon:
