Matt describes the bar as a “labour of love” – it’s a bar that people love to be in and a bar that people respond to, bringing the Crossgates community together through great beer and local produce. The music, design and feel for the whole business was created to make people feel like they are at home.
The suburb has a real community feel and over the past year The Assembly has been host to numerous events to unite the people of Crossgates. They’ve hosted events suitable for everybody, from gin masterclasses to even baby brunches. Their bar provides a lovely place for people to socialise.
They are continuing with their events over the summer to celebrate their birthday by playing host to three “summer social” events across July and August. Each of the socials are free to attend on their outdoor area and will start at 2pm and finish at 8pm.
The first summer social is the 20th July, which will have street food from hull based caterers Shoot The Bull, who specialise in bringing restaurant food to the streets! Brander who was the lead singer of Leeds based band The Mexanines will also be providing live music.
