We are lucky in the sense that we live in a city full of diversity, heritage and culture. We cater for our communities in every way, shape and form – and that doesn’t stop with our independents.
Nestled in Thornton’s Arcade you will find Mulroy’s Jewellers, a independent jewellery shop that specialises in diamonds but also antique and era based jewellery. They seek out the differences in the city by searching and selling pieces of jewellery that are a bit different to your average jewellers. They buy through trade, the public and antique dealers to deliver a range that is unique to only them, and you’re sure to find something special.
The jewellers is a family run business, owner James has been in the trade all his life after his grandfather opened up a shop in the North East in 1959. Originally from Yorkshire, James wanted to get back to his roots from his shop in Carlisle and opened up six months ago in one of our favourite arcades in the city.
Mulroy’s pride themselves on providing something for everybody – whether it be in terms of price or style, as James says: “you don’t have to be a millionaire to walk through the door and get some nice jewellery.”
The beauty of this wonderful jewellers is the attention to detail that James is able to offer due to his lifelong experience in the jewellery market. He aims to help find the perfect piece for you. The range Mulroy’s offer is so varied that there is guaranteed to be something for you no matter who you are and better so – you will be the only one in Leeds to be wearing it.
Though a specialist in diamonds (both big and small), Mulroy’s also deal with stones such as opal, tanzanite, ruby and sapphire. The jewellery styles they offer range from modern, Art deco, Edwardian to Victorian.
So, no matter what the occasion is – next time you’re wanting a unique piece of jewellery from somebody who is passionate about what they do, then head to Mulroy’s Jewellers in Thornton’s Arcade and help support local businesses!
