The same passion has pushed them even further as they’ve stepped up and opened this second venue to showcase a mixture of Italian tradition and innovation.
As soon as you walk in, you’re transported to that of an Italian pizzeria with welcoming staff and a stylish and cosy interior. When you visit LIVIN’Italy Dough House, you are family. This is promoted through their ethos of “sociable” dining – a true representation of Italian culture. No fakery here: this is Italy in Leeds!
The cleverly designed layout dividing areas up means that you can come in with your family and enjoy a tasty meal, you can come with your friends for cocktails and get pizza slices by the bar until the early hours or you can come in for a tub of gelato and a coffee. There’s no limits – LIVIN’Italy Dough House is for everyone, in true Italian style.
Mattia and the team pride themselves on using only the finest quality artisan ingredients, with dough that is made using “ancient” grains in partnership with family millers with over 100 years of experience. The grains and the organic wholegrain flour have travelled from the field right to your fork. This means their pizza bases are light and low in gluten and carbs, so it would be rude to not have more!
They have created a statement dish, which is a whopper 20 INCH pizza that is cooked to perfection in a huge pizza oven. The pizza is dramatic looking and a real talking point – making it an ideal dish for sharing between 2 or 3. And trust us, it’s like nothing you’ve ever tasted before in Leeds
Whilst the toppings are amazing – it’s all about the dough. You get to choose your own including Gluten Free – which they spent months perfecting to ensure that people with gluten intolerances enjoy the same excellence of product as the traditional base. There are also plenty of vegan and veggie options for non-meat eaters.
As well as their show-stopping pizza, they do amazing Italian street food dishes such as fish stew and short rib beef sliders, a homemade recipe passed down from Mattia’s mother, who used to cook the dish for him when he was younger. There are also plenty of vegan and veggie options for non-meat eaters.
They have tasty starters in the form of Antipasti and Bruschetta, speciality hand crafted cocktails such as Negroni and Aperol Spritz (which all have a LIVIN’Italy twist) and artisan Italian gelato in 8 delicious flavours, which are little tubs of joy! Gelato is a huge part of the life of an Italian making it an essential part of the concept. People of all ages hang out in Gelateria’s in Italy – much like us English folk sitting in the pub all the time!
Their unique offering has already created huge interest with city goers and tourists alike – starting their first month with a bang! If you are wanting to both feel and taste Italian passion, then be sure to head down to LIVIN’Italy Dough House by the Corn Exchange – no quasi copy, this is the real deal like no other.
