Located along The Headrow, The Light is the easiest way to discover leisure and retail in central Leeds. Constructed in 1931 as the headquarters of the Leeds Permanent Building Society, it reopened in 2001 with a completely new function.
The Light now serves to entertain, nourish and pamper the gentle folk of Leeds. With a retail area of 32,515 square metres, high spenders and low spenders are equally welcome, with numerous shops offering some much needed retail therapy. It contains one of Leeds’ two city-centre cinemas, a 14-screen multiplex cinema operated by Vue, as well as a number of restaurants to keep you extremely well-fed throughout your visit. You’ll also find a number of special events like ‘City Beach’, ‘Meet the Stylist’ and its annual ‘Night of Indulgence’, so keep your eyes peeled and don’t be afraid to pop your head in if you’re ever walking past!
