Left Bank Leeds
Left Bank Leeds is a multidisciplinary arts venue set in an amazing Grade II* listed former church building. Much more than an impressive building, it’s an organisation with heart and a down-to-earth approach, connecting people to each other, to arts and culture, and to new experiences and opportunities.
The eclectic programme of arts and events includes art exhibitions, theatre, festivals, music events, talks, workshops, monthly cinema screenings, guided reflections and free co-working space.
The venue is also available to hire for weddings, corporate events and private parties and, it’s conveniently located in Headingley. It stands together with Leeds City Varieties, Civic Hall, Grand Theatre as one of Leeds’ Grade II* listed buildings. It was designed by Temple Moore who’s churches are now considered to be masterpieces of the late Gothic Revival, a style of architecture he raised to a new level of beauty and refinement.
There’s always lots going on, watch out for their annual LS6 Beer Festival in May which attracts hundreds of beer lovers each year to enjoy their favourite tipple in incredible surroundings.
There are exhibitions throughout the year in the Porch Gallery and host large-scale exhibitions such as the annual Summer Group Show in the main space.
If you need a quiet place to get some work done, the building is open every Wednesday and Thursday as a free co-working space from 10am to 4pm with free WiFi and power points to plug in your laptop.
