Following an extensive refurbishment, the 130 year old Grade II listed building showcases a wealth of art by well-known artists including an exhibition programme which cuts across the historic and contemporary.
Located in the heart of Leeds city centre, Leeds Art Gallery’s transformation provides visitors with the opportunity to see the stunning original Victorian Central Court glass ceiling.
The Sculpture Collections, a major display staged across Leeds Art Gallery and the Henry Moore Institute is on until 2 September 2018. From 8 June ? 2 September 2018, the gallery presents Andy Holden & Peter Holden: Natural Selection, the culmination of a five-year collaboration between artist Andy Holden and his father.

Explore our inspiring gallery including the Leeds Collection, a series of fascinating contemporary exhibitions, and immersive yourself in Xanadu, the incredible staircase centrepiece by artist Lothar Gštz. The crowd-funded wall painting draws attention to the new influx of natural light from the renovated spaces above, with vibrant abstract colour contrasting with the architecture.
Open until 2 September 2018, The Sculpture Collections celebrates a 36-year partnership which has built one of the strongest collections of British sculpture in the world, with over 125 sculptures and 75 framed works.
From 8 June ? 2 September 2018, Andy Holden & Peter Holden: Natural Selection invites visitors to follow the five-year collaborative journey of artist Andy Holden and his father. Through the lives of birds, from the building of nests to the collecting of eggs, this exhibition will feature objects, sculptures, videos and animation. Celebrating the diversity of natural forms and different ways of looking, it is an artistic exploration of social history, aesthetics and communication, as well as natural history.
Our Victorian Tiled Hall Café is a magnificent space which features a blend of brightly coloured decorative tiles, gold details on the ceiling, huge marble columns and dramatic archways.
