Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen
Located in Leeds’ vibrant Northern Quarter, Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen first opened its doors in 1934 as Leeds Children’s Palace, a 3-storey recreation hall and nursery school built to provide childcare support for the working families of Leeds. After many years of neglect the building has been restored to its former glory and reopened under the name Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen, with a hope that it will provide artists and performers a unique new platform in one of the UK’s most creative cities.
Belgrave has a huge roof terrace, sells Burgers and Pizzas 7 days a week, massive beer selection, monthly Street food feast and over the past four years has hosted live acts such as Floating Points, Loyle Carner, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Ghostpoet, SinkaneDIIV, Nightmares on Wax, Rejjie Snow, Jungle, Jordan Rakei, Yussef Kamaal, The Fall, Jazz Cartier, Mr Scruff, Tinariwen, Fucked Up, Glass Animals, Anderson.Paak, Roots Manuva, Connan Mockasin, Femi Kuti, Parquet Courts, Alvvays, Angel Haze, Little Simz, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Wavves, Moonlandingz, Fat White Family, Royal Blood, Sebadoh, Slum Village, Hot 8 Brass Band. And we still haven’t mentioned the best part. Belgrave’s in-house pizza slingers, ‘Dough Boys’, serve amazing, fresh hand-stretched pizzas by the slice, and their kitchen buddies, ‘Patty Smiths’, conjure up some of the best burgers in Leeds.
A great venue for dates, to discover new music, and to taste new beers. Belgrave is perfect for each situation.
