Jack Otway b. 1991 Winchester. Lives and works in London. Jack studied his BA (Hons) Fine Art (International), University of Leeds, UK. Jack is the opening exhibition to “Painting Programme”a series of 7 exhibitions centered around emerging painting now, co-ordinated by Assembly House Studio Holders.
“Painting Programme” is co-ordinated by Assembly House Studio holders and painters; Suzy Babington, Rufus Newell, Zoe Spowage, Jack Towndrow and Rosie Vohra.
The programme is a given structure by which each studio holder involved invites a painter they admire to curate a painting exhibition at the Assembly House exhibition space.
These inclusive shows, will display a wide range of artists working within paint and will manifest in 7 exhibitions.
The aim is to bridge gaps between working artists, telling the curating artists story of painting, involving many artists in an only partly controlled exhibition programme where emerging artists sit alongside more established.
The artist curated exhibitions will be sandwiched by, a solo presentation by Jack Otway as an opening show and the final show being curated by Kate Mothes from Young Space. Young Space is a nomadic art platform that is geared towards painters alone. Kates work includes blogs, interviews, studio visits and real life exhibitions that are held in one off locations. Young Space is a great support for emerging painters.
The exhibitions start in October ’18, and run through till May ’19 for three weeks each.
Curating artists, dates and exhibition details to be announced in September ’18.
