It is this collaboration of individuals that makes Assembly Underground rise above. The whole is made up of six street food vendors and three bars, and the sum is as good as its world travelling parts. There’s locally roasted coffee at Underground Coffee, global spirits at the speakeasy, Brazilian grills at Bread & Butter, Punjabi dosas at Jah Jyot, Arabic wraps at Falafel Guys, American burgers at Slap & Pickle, and Italian pizzas at Pizza Authority. Something for everyone, and reason to return.
And yet the piece de resistance is still to come… a bar serving the most craft beers in the country! Run by Hebden Bridge’s excellent Vocation Brewery, theirs and many other fine ales total 50 taps on a menu that will take even the most dedicated drinker many a visit to sup through, especially as the selection continues to evolve. But if ever the hangover was worth it…..
With plans to add entertainment, including live music and film screenings, Assembly Underground are indeed assembling Leeds’ food, drink and culture into one all-encompassing underground space. You know what to do. Head on down to the underground….
